Thank you for the conversation, Hannah. It was fun listening back to this, we laughed a lot! It was also great to share some of our experiences and what we are up to now :)

This was excellent! I could, of course, relate to all the bits about teaching. What really resonated for me right now was the point you make about process and need for headspace. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with all the ideas I have, and so much of a creative life is a careful balance of time in order to give those ideas time and attention they need to develop. It’s an ever-evolving process!

Thanks so much for listening Maria! I’m so pleased you enjoyed it 🧡

Finding space to let ideas evolve is so hard, but it seems we’re all learning to embrace it and see what results 🙌🏻

I really enjoyed your podcast today Hannah, great conversation! 👏

I loved the observation about not getting craft kits as gifts as adults.

I'm going to float the suggestion of giving craft kits in my friend's Secret Santa this year... and then we can bring back the results for Secret Satan in January! 😂 😘

Thanks so much for listening, Kate!

I’m all for bringing back craft kits as gifts. I think I’d quite like to get into embroidery but, as you know, I’ve already got too many things on the go 😂

Two have voted yes to the idea, four more votes to come in... this is more exciting than Eurovision! 👏

Will keep you posted on the result! 😘

So interesting as I have friends who are interested in moving into teaching from creative roles! It's something I think about a lot too. Look forward to listening xo

Thanks for listening Antonia and just to piggy-back onto Hannah's point too, I certainly think (for me, anyway) that the structure/routines that teaching can be both a blessing and a curse. You know what classes fall when etc... but after some time, the inflexibility this brings can be frustrating. The pandemic brought a lot of things into focus for me about work, and how I would like to work, as I think it did for many people.

So true Sarah. My daughter's French teacher had the same and decided he wanted to leave his publishing job and go into teaching in his early 40's. I think for me too, I built a business around my kids and they're 17 and 16 and I'm looking into the future and thinking "Oh....". Thank you for your thoughtful reply xo

That’s so interesting, Antonia! I think we often crave the opposite of what we have. After 16 years of teaching and institutionalisation, I was craving creative freedom and the ability to plan my working days how I wanted to, but I can absolutely see how it could work the other way around too.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts! 😊

What a lovely thing to wake up to, several days later, but I very much appreciate the mention and the discussion around the challenges! I'm glad you both feel welcomed in the community! Can't wait to see what you'll submit in future challenges! 😊
