I'm ALWAYS fascinated by other people's bookshelves - and no colour-coding here either. I've been known to block in windows to make more room for books....
Thanks Jo! The pottery has been a revelation and I’m going to feel a bit bereft when my 8 week class is over in a couple of weeks. Though I may sign up for more.
That’s a drastic measure covering windows with books but when you’ve got a lot of books, they’ve got to go somewhere! 📚
Thanks for reading Claire. I think a lot of people feel that way and it’s something I want to try to approach differently and more realistically. We all live somewhere and deserve to have things which make us feel at home in our homes. I really love meeting clients and finding out their story and then working out how we can bring that into their home surroundings.
Ooh, your office is coming along nicely! Love your new shelves. And your lovely bowl! I like that you’re leaving room for your collections to grow…organically.
I’m not entirely sure that I get the whole colour-coding of books. Seems a tad contrived…were the books purchased based upon their colour? 🤷♀️
Marmite on buttered toast is the best breakfast imo!
I think colour grouped books became a thing on instagram in that way that where nobody really thought about the practicalities of it. Occasionally I've been into charity shops where they arrange the books (and clothes) like this too and I can find anything I'm looking for so I walk straight out again!
I kind of like rediscovering items when unpacking boxes after a move. It took us several years to unpack some boxes in this house after the slow process of renovating but it was a bit like Christmas when it finally happened!
Love the pottery!

Oh I loved reading this, especially from an interior designer. I usually feel quite alienated by interiors but this feels more realistic.
Yes, and I especially liked the pottery...!
Thanks Richard! I’m so enjoying making pottery and simply seeing where the clay leads me

A pottery win for sure. I'd happily drink my tea from that bowl. Bring on the unique wonky goodness!

PS I love Marmite!

Hope to see you at Create Ensemble next week! x
Yes! Annoying!
Agree re Marmite on toast! Big doorsteps! 😋
See you next week x
It´s looking so cosy and lovely! I can already see the comfy chair that will at som point turn up in your studio.
Thanks Carina, I really love it so much! I'm on the lookout for the perfect chair. I'll keep you posted on progress 😊
Great post. We’ve still to get our books out of packing boxes. Must get round to that.

I think we have a few boxes missing! 🤣
It is such a lovely ‘me’ space. You have galvanised me into clearing mine and making it work. Xx
Thanks Jo and I love that it’s galvanised you! x
Lovely article and congratulations and on the shelves, they’re lovely! As a kindness to yourself, perhaps leave that hygienist and find a nicer one?
Thanks for reading Mary, I think that’s a very good idea. My husband suggested the same thing!
