I’m delighted to say that I have passed the 1000 subscriber mark here on Substack. It feels like a huge milestone as I started with 0 subscribers and had no email list or similar to bring over here. It has all come from showing up regularly, connecting with you lovely people and, I think, championing other people’s work. Something I make a point of continuing to do regularly when I read something that I deeply connect with.
For many of you, last week’s piece resonated because you too are at some stage in the journey of making a career change or seeking a more creative way of living. Others congratulated me and were grateful for my transparency when talking about finances. It certainly hasn’t all been plain sailing this year and careful budgeting is now very much a key skill in my life toolbox.
These heartfelt comments mean so much and have made me reflect further over the past few days. In a way, I found myself feeling as shocked as anyone that I have made this work for a whole year.
What was the secret? Was there even a secret?
