You’re so great at nurturing connections Hannah! It’s inspiring. Definitely is what makes Substack fulfilling and as you say, you never know where they will lead! Congrats on the success of your building your Substack post, I really enjoyed reading it too, so great it reached so many people 😊❤️
Thanks Hannah! Meeting up with you in person was highlight and never would have happened without Substack ✨I love nurturing connections, it really brings me so much joy.
Just wanted to reiterate your point on visibility; I'm neither a teacher nor an interior designer, but following your multi-hyphenate journey nevertheless feels inspiring (one day during the summer I was telling my partner all about your journey and your Substack 😂)
Also really enjoy your voiceovers - reading is great, but when pushed for time it's nice to know there's a few key newsletters I can tune into while pottering and still get the same feeling as when I'm sat down reading.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this Lauren - it really means a lot.
I'm happy to hear you enjoy the voiceovers - that's exactly how I feel about other newsletters. Voiceover versions are perfect when I'm walking somewhere or cleaning!
It was so wonderful to meet IRF and I can't believe that it was nearly a week ago now. Thank you again for the invitation to the design event.
When I think about it, I have made several connections here on Substack through and your newsletter, so you really are building a wonderful community here!
It has been so much fun watching your Substack take off, Hannah. It's the perfect mix of creative dreams mixed with practical ways to reach them. You really have inspired so many people! Love this post about nurturing connections. I definitely want to write about our meetup in a future post, and something tells me that it won't be the last time we cross paths in person. It really made me so happy that we made that happen!
It made me extremely happy too - and just reminds me that these kinds of encounters are absolutely possible if we really want to make them happen. I hope our paths will cross again too ✨
I'll be honest, I can't believe all of this Substack stuff has happened over the past year. It's definitely my sign from the universe to go for it, give things a try and see what happens! I hope I can spread some of that hope and belief to others too.
Meeting people originally connected with through blogging, or now, Substack, is a special experience. I met 5 or so during my first blogging experience, and I'm in touch with one of them every single day. So you are right, you don't know where these connections will lead, but often they lead to something good!
This is so good to hear Betty! I think it helps that when we connect with others through our writing we form a deep connection which sifts out small talk. I’m an introvert and much prefer to get straight into a topic rather than go through all the small talk first! I hope I’m still in touch with lots of my Substack friends in several years’ time!
I left teaching years ago. I was an MFL teacher. I left and started a business but got pregnant in the beginnings of it. It meant I found it hard to manage both. So I'm back in Scools now as a part time TA which nowadays is just as tiring if not more so than being a teacher. I dream of running my own business. Reading your newsletter with interest.
Hi Claire, thanks for your comment. Yes, I think TAs have a really full on job and are often expected to step into challenging situations. What kind of business do you dream of running? Is it something you could begin on a very small scale?

It's brilliant to hear that, Sarah! I love that the network here does it's own work in connecting like-minded people.
So happy we could meet 💫

I do readings online and have a membership on my substack. I keep plodding on.
This sounds like a great way of building; little by little it will take shape ✨
